We're filming for Eat St!

Did you hear the news?  We're going to be filmed for an episode of Eat St., a show focusing on street and mobile food that airs on the Cooking Channel.  We interview with them a few weeks ago and they were really into the fact that we grind our own beef from whole cuts, try to incorporate lots of local products and have inventive takes on the classic burger, i.e. our B&B which features bacon, brie and red pepper jelly. They also liked that we had been food bloggers and food lovers before actually throwing ourselves and our burgers into the food truck scene here in Louisville.

If you're not familiar with the show, here is the Trailer from Season 2

We're so excited to be a part of this and feel really honored and fortunate that they found us and we're as excited as we are about what we're doing.

We're filming on May 30th at the 2005 Douglass Blvd, which is normally where the Douglass Loop Farmers Market in held on Saturdays. There will be picnic tables, there's a playground for the kiddoes and of course lots of juicy, fresh ground burgers. They're filming the lunch scene from 11:00 to 2:00 so come out, get some food, get some sun and have a lot of fun with Jesse and I. Hope to see you guys there!

Derby weekend!

If you're from Kentucky or have spent any time here you know Derby Week is madness.  Grind is no exception.  Here's our schedule for the weekend:

Friday 11-2:00 pm - Park Community Bank off of Blankenbaker Pwky - Classic, B&B, Veggie - lunch special is free chips with the purchase of a drink

Friday Evening - Private Party for Oaks - However,  there is a huge Food Truck event at Phoenix Hill Tavern so be sure to check it out if you're craving mobile eats.

Saturday 10-3pm - Douglass Loop Farmers Market - We're back again and this time we're bringing our "Derby" burger.  Sweet bourbon glaze, smoked gouda, bacon and crisp apple slices.  It's good.  It's real good.  We'll also have our amazing duck fat skillet-smashed potatoes.  They sold out at Truckus Ruckus a few weeks ago and I imagine they'll sell out pretty quickly at the market as well.  We'll also have the classic, B&B and veggie.

Saturday 8pm - 2 am - Down and Derby at the Watertower - Lots of burgers and lots of fun.  We'll have an expanded menu so don't miss coming to see us.  Oh, and it's for a good cause.  :)
